Well this Easter has been a challenging one with regard to fundraising, so we had to come up with a way to raise money but social distanced!

Thanks to our talented volunteer knitters we had lots of little Easter Chicks available with their own Creme egg waiting to hatch!

Special thanks go to Yorkshire Ales, Snaith who did an amazing job promoting and selling our chicks alongside their own orders.

We raised £206!!

Carlton Towers

Well 2020 was a challenging year for everyone, especially charities, as we lost most of our usual ways of fundraising for Linbee.

Thankfully Carlton Towers came along with their Outdoor Market which started small but quickly grew into a large and successful venue for local businesses to showcase their wares.

With the help of a team of volunteers we managed to attend every other weekend and the Bank Holiday weekends.

We have to say that the support from everyone who attended was amazing, from buying tombola tickets, entering our raffles to buying our fantastic selection of all things doggy!

By the end of Autumn we had raised a whopping £4,250.

Thank you to each and every one of you that supported us and we will see you in April 2021!

Sanctuary Dog Ralph

Ralph came to us in 2019. When he first arrived he was so frustrated and full of energy, there were worries about him being deaf! no one could pick up a ball in front of him as he would grab your hand. He could not keep still, as he just circled and circled.

Well fast forward a few months and you can see by the pictures the progress the dedicated team at Linbee have achieved. He will sit and wait and is learning to chill out!

He hates being inside and is at his happiest playing in our secure area. However this was really not a suitable or safe environment for Ralph to spend his days. So last Summer we raised some money and invested in a fantastic astroturfed space, level, secure and clean. Safe to say you can see from the photos how happy he is with it!

Maui ex racer to therapy dog

maui.jpg

Maui was adopted by Jess in 2018. Maui soon showed he had natural instincts and skills which enabled him to provide invaluable support when I was struggling with my own mental health. Maui’s natural skills were shaped and he received further training so he could act as my assistance dog.

“I am so proud that Equality for All are implementing this model so that Maui and I can draw on our experiences to support others with their recovery”.

Recently Maui has been working with a client with a diagnosis of Social Phobia, Paranoid Schizophrenia and Personality Disorder. Maui has proven to be a great support and demonstrate his ability to pick up on human feelings when they are experiencing anxiety and paranoia. Maui stops when he senses this, stays close and offers emotional support allowing the client to gradually build up his confidence going outside and entering social situations.

He said “Maui has helped me do things I haven’t been able to do for many years by myself”

New home Linbee!

It all begins with an idea.

Linbee are very excited to have moved to their new premises on the 1st of October 2016.  As you can see from the photos, our new facilities are fantastic.  With large, indoor kennels and a massive outdoor exercise area this is a brilliant move for our dogs.  We now have more kennels too so we can rescue more dogs.

The dogs currently waiting for their forever homes, settled in straight away.

Support adoption for pets - Pets at home

It all begins with an idea.

Linbee are now in partnership with Pets at Home's Halifax, Guiseley, Brighouse, Idle and Selby branches and are being supported by their Support Adoption for Pets charity!

This is a huge leap for Linbee! The application was rigorous and it is yet another step towards getting more people aware of Linbee Dog Rehoming and the rescue's ethos.

It also means that Linbee are able to fund raise from these branches, receive donations of food/toys for the dogs via customers from the Support Adoption for Pets bins placed around stores and local people can now also locate us using their Find a Pet page on the Support Adoption for Pets website. This all helps Linbee to do what they are geared towards - helping as many dogs as possible!

We hope that you are as excited as we are to be supported by such a huge organisation!

31st January 2020? - Today we were presented with our cheque from Pets at Home Halifax Support Adoption For Pets for £1818.42
A massive team effort from all the staff at our Halifax store and from Kelly Jackson Alfie Jackson Jamie Booth Andy Sue Fishwick and furkids Betty Leo and Roo for all their time and effort in presenting such an attractive stall throughout the year.
Thank you to all the customers and friends who donated and made this year a great success.
